the future is grim

Created by Steph Dumais and Alex Gemme, Renegade XL900 is a high-octane homage to the gritty worlds of Robocop, 2000 AD, Warhammer 40K, and Gunnm. It is a classic tale of self-discovery, cold vengeance, and bloody revolution.

In a dying world turned to wasteland, the great cities of our time have slammed their gates shut. Now isolated, self-sufficient city-states, these sprawling megalopolises extend as deep into the scorched bowels of the earth as they do toward the poisoned clouds above.

the sealed levels

What was once the island of Montreal is now a monolithic tower, a behemoth divided into five sealed strata.

Deep within the sunless recesses of the sub-levels dwell the hive-scum: outcasts and scavengers who subsist on the refuse of those above. Rising over them are the Industrial Tiers, a graveyard of heavy machinery tended by blue-collar workers whose grueling labor keeps the tower breathing. Above the grime, the Bureaucrat Levels pulse with a different energy; here, the white-collar elite split their regimented lives between the blue light of flickering screens and the hollow glow of neon-soaked revelry.

a revolution is brewing

High above the clouds, a handful of self-appointed gods rule the heights. Aloof and untouchable, they are indifferent to the suffering their whims inflict upon the gasping masses below.

But the foundation is cracking. One has risen from the lightless depths, reborn as an iconoclast fueled by the fire of revolution.

Created as the XL900... Worshipped as the Renegade.
